Man from Phoenix pleads guilty to smuggling firearms, drug trafficking

PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - A man from Phoenix, Arizona was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to smuggling firearms across Mexico and for drug trafficking.

Sevilla had a previous guilty sentence for conspiracy to smuggle goods, intention to distribute fentanyl and possessing a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

In September 2019, a bureau investigated firearms bought by Sevilla and found several illegal drugs in his home.

Agents seized 19 grams of cocaine, about 12 pounds of fentanyl pills, and a bag with a loaded pistol.
