UPDATE: Texas soldier found dead trying to save migrants in river

(KYMA, KECY) - NBC has confirmed the soldier has been found dead.

The solider has not been publicly identified but he is said to be 23 years old.


(KYMA, KECY) - The Texas Military Department says a soldier has gone missing on a mission to save a group of migrants in a river.

A Texas National Guard was on a mission in Eagle Pass when a TDM spokesperson said the person was not found.

Officers and agents are working together to search for the soldier who went missing at around 8:30 a.m.

A woman was saved and is in custody of Border Patrol.

Though many are concerned about the large amounts of migrants attempting to cross the border, with many more expected to seen in larger numbers when Title 42 is lifted.
