Gusty winds and cooler temperatures for Earth Day

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Happy Earth Day! We will experience a major drop in our temperatures as will be in the 70s for our afternoon high. We will be below-normal and our average is 88-degrees. Another major change in our forecast today is strong and gusty winds.

There's a Wind Advisory that's in place until 2 PM this afternoon for both Yuma and Imperial counties for possible wind gusts of 50 MPH. Blowing dust and sand is possible, so make sure to take extra precautions today.

Strong Southwesterly winds will continue with winds 20 to 30 MPH and gusts 35 to 50 MPH.

Even through the evening we will feel the winds as winds will continue for both Yuma and Imperial counties.

Looking ahead to our weekend we can expect calmer and warmer conditions. We will see plenty of sunshine with temperatures on the rise as we get ready for another warming trend.
