A nonprofit is asking the public to hit the greens for some green
Arizona Children's Association is hoping to 'tee off' its event with a full roster
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - For most people the idea of being ripped away from the only life they've ever, is unthinkable. But for many children, this idea is all too real.
When the court decides that a child isn't safe in their own home, the order is given for them to be moved to a safe place. The act is heartbreaking but necessary.
Thousands of children are placed in foster care and face an undetermined future. Although reunification is the goal, the primary priority is for the child to be safe.
When reunification isn't possible, the child can be adopted and given the chance to live a full and healthy life. Unfortunately, that can't be said for all our children, some will age out of the system.
This is why places like Arizona Children's Association exist, they're the go-between the courts and where the children end up. Even more so, they help those children age out and get a better start in life.
AZCA has been dedicated to this mission for over a hundred years. And, with the help of the public and generous benefactors, they'll continue to help.
This means fundraising, John Boemer was a strong supporter of AZCA's mission and created a golf tournament to help raise the funds needed to continue the said mission.
The 23rd Annual John Boemer Golf Tournament is set for May 7, at the Yuma Golf and Country Club. Flag sponsors are needed as well as teams.
