News 11 Weather Authority: Heating beyond Easter

April 18th, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - As the overall temperature spectrum saw a rise on Easter Sunday, it went even further on this Monday.

High pressure from the South has elevated our daytime high mercury into the 96 to 99 degree range with our areas major weather stations.

We might have reached our latest temperature apex, due to another system making it's move on the overall Western States.

Our temps will drop slightly on Tuesday and will continue tumbling through the middle of the week, with wind expected to be a factor in our weather for at least the next couple of days.

A wind advisory seems likely on Tuesday for Southwest Imperial County near Ocotillo, with gusts potentially peaking beyond 50 miles per hour.
