Federal transportation mask mandate extended until May 3

(KYMA, KECY) - The federal transportation mask mandate will be sticking around for another 15 days until May 3.

That's the latest from a source familiar with the matter who says the goal is to use the extra time to gather more information about the BA-2 variant.

As a reminder, the mandate means you have to wear a mask on public transportation including planes, trains, and buses and when you're inside places like airports and bus terminals.

The mandate was supposed to expire on April 18.
