U.S. taking a turn on pandemic, CDC says ‘Covid deaths could drop by half’

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Health officials say it appears like the United States is getting the upper hand on the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicts less than 13,000 people may die from the virus over the next four-weeks.

That's nearly a 50% drop from the previous forecast and the lowest that number has been thus far this year.

The CDC also says hospitalizations will decrease between now and mid-April.
