Temperatures are heating up

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - A strong ridge of high pressure across the Desert Southwest keeping our conditions dry, but temperatures above normal. Our average for this time of year is 80 degrees, so we are dealing with temperatures about 10 degrees over our seasonal average.

Temperatures will quickly warm up as our temperatures will rise into the 80s by lunchtime and today there's a possibility temperatures could reach the 90s this afternoon. Make sure to lather up on sunscreen and stay hydrated as we will see lots of sunshine.

Winds will be calm and light all through the morning and afternoon with winds 5 to 10 MPH. However, Imperial valley will have stronger winds by the nighttime hours. Tonight we will also see nighttime clouds but will see clear skies and continue to deal with warm temperatures again tomorrow.
