Crash in the Foothills leaves motorcyclist severely injured
The crash happened after a 22-year-old woman failed to yield at a stop sign
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A crash involving three vehicles took place in front of a Wal-Mart in the Foothills on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened on East 32nd Street.
The Yuma Police Department says they responded to the scene around 1:30 p.m.
Their initial investigation reveals a 22-year-old woman driving a Toyota RAV-4 failed to yield at a stop sign.
The woman was turning left onto 32nd Street from Cielo Verde Drive,
Which is when she hit a Harley Davidson motorcycle ridden by a 76-year-old woman and a Volkswagen being driven by a 61-year-old woman.
As a result, the woman on the motorcycle had to be airlifted to a Phoenix area hospital with severe injuries.
The other driver remained on scene with no reported injuries. The crash caused the road to be closed for several hours.
