Road closure notice: 4th Avenue, Union Street, County 22nd Street

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Road upgrades on 4th Avenue, between Union Street and County 22nd Street will begin early next week per The City of San Luis Public Works Department.
The road closure starts on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
Working with them is the Comite de Bienestar.
These improvements are set to help with distance visibility and they're tackling it by removing about six and a half feet of the hill on 4th Avenue, which requires a full roadway closure.
Turning lanes will also be added to allow better access into an upcoming apartment complex, Valley View Apartments.
About 500 lineal feet of water line is set for relocation and the 4th Avenue roadway will be widened—with the extension of the center lane.
The idea is to better safety for drivers to better serve the San Luis community.
A request from the city to motorists, follow the reduced speed limits and follow traffic control signage in construction sites.
The closure is expected to be completed within six weeks.
