Ukranian civilians may be allowed to safely leave during Russia attacks

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - Ukraine civilians may be allowed to safely leave the country as Russia continues its assault and placing its convoys within the capital.

The Pentagon says about 90% of Russia's combat power may have already gone inside Ukraine, despite President Biden placing sanctions on the country.

Russia President Vladimir Putin says plans are going as expected in Ukraine as Russian forces show their power outside Kyiv.

"The use of weapons with wide-area effects in populated urban areas risks being inherently indiscriminate," said UN High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet.

Millions have already fled Ukraine or been displaced since Russia began its attack, but both countries had a round of peace talks and agreed on allowing civilians safe passage.
