Brownie’s Diner hosts Winter Clothing Drive

BRAWLEY, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- Saturday, Janurary 4,  from 9 a.m. to noon, Imperial Valley residents can make a difference to families in the lives of families in need in the Brawley Elementary School District.

Brownie's diner is holding a "Winter Clothing Drive", where residents can drop off donations.

Residents can also enjoy a churro and coffee while also getting to know city leaders and how they can help the community.

Brawley Elementary School Trustee, Gil Rebollar said events like these are vital for families who are struggling to make ends meet.

"It brings us together. It gets them to trust. Knowing that they're in an environment that cares for them, that nurtures them. And that is going to watch out for them. So it's so much more than just the clothing item itself. It's that sense of trust between the student and the families and the school administration."

Donated clothes will be handed out to students next week when school is back in session.
