Today: President Biden marks one year in Oval Office

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - One year ago Thursday, President Joe Biden took the Oath of Office and one year later, as crises brew at home and abroad, the President says he's prepared to make changes.

This as challenges loom over his second year in things like:

• Covid-19
• inflation
• the Ukraine-Russia crisis
• lingering questions over the U.S. pullout from Afghanistan

Not to mention the first-year priorities frozen in the Senate which has dashed Biden's hope for bipartisanship.

So he says he's looking to switch up his approach.

"Number one: I'm going to get out of this place more often. I'm going to go out and talk to the public," claimed Biden. "Number two: I'm also going to be out there seeking the advice of more experts outside. From academia to editorial writers to think tanks. And the third thing I'm doing a lot more of, I'm going to be deeply involved in these off-year elections."

Meanwhile, the President is seeing his lowest approval rating to date.

A Gallop Poll finds only 40% of Americans approve of the President's job performance, which is down 3% from his approval rating in September and down 17% from its strongest level.
