Pence predicts Trump campaign will focus on Arizona
Vice President Mike Pence says he and President Donald Trump are ” going to be in and out of Arizona a lot ” during the 2020 campaign.
Pence told reporters after a Thursday event in Scottsdale the Trump campaign plans to appeal to Hispanic voters in the state by focusing on faith, family, and opposition to abortion.
Arizona is emerging as a 2020 battleground state.
Pence spent two days in the state. He attended a fundraiser for Republican Senator Martha McSally Wednesday night, and spent Thursday speaking to business leaders in Phoenix and Tucson.
During the visit, the Vice President touted economic strength, job growth and tax cuts. He also defended the president’s calls foreign governments to investigate one of Trump’s leading Democratic rivals.
