Gives meaning and reasons for reports of strange sightings statewide

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Were you one of the many Arizonans who saw strange lights across the sky Friday evening? Well, rest assured, those were not Unidentified Flying Objects.

SpaceX confirms that the program's Starlink satellites are the cause of the strange sighting. According to the Starlink tracker website, Starlink-G4-3 was expected to be seen over Arizona starting around 6:38 p.m.

A local viewer Camille Masse reached out to News 11 after seeing the bright line of lights in the sky.

She saw the group of satellites passing over Somerton heading towards Yuma.

These satellites were directly visible passing from the southwest toward north. They were apparently only seen for about six to eight minutes across the Arizona sky.
