Locals divided on impeachment inquiry

Thursday, President Trump was upset over Congress’ impeachment inquiry.

Some locals took to the streets of Yuma voicing anti-Trump sentiments.

Yuma County Indivisible organized a protest on 24th Street and 4th Avenue.

At one point the group wanted to see changes in the Trump Administration, but members say the President has lied to the country on too many occasions.

Now the group wants President Trump out of the Oval Office. They classify the impeachment inquiry as a constitutional crisis.

Fred Brown, facilitator of Yuma County Indivisible said, ” The President is actively soliciting foreign assistance for personal gain. That’s a violation of his constitutional duty and the constitution leaves but one remedy. That is congressional impeachment. ”

However, there were locals who completely disagreed.

One driver counterattacked protesters and yelled for the arrests of all democrats.

Thursday morning, the Yuma County Republican Party told News 11 that they whole-heartedly support the President.

Secretary, Bonnie Knight, said she trusts that President Trump is innocent.

Knight believes when it comes to border protection, he’s been hands-on, which she said is most important.
