Man arrested in connection to Shooting near Kennedy Park

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) -

UPDATE 11:30 P.M. - Yuma Police Department (YPD) had a short standoff with a man at a home on the 4100 Block of West 21st Street.

The man was then arrested. He is now behind bars at the Yuma County Adult Detention Facility for Misconduct with Weapons and Possession of a Weapon by a Prohibited Possessor. 

This incident is still under investigation. 

UPDATE 6:19 A.M. - Yuma Police Officers (YPD) responded to a report of shots being fired on the 2300 Block of S. Carol Avenue.

At around 4 p.m. this evening, one adult female was shot inside her residence.

She was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

YPD continues to investigate.

Police confirm a shooting took place south of Kennedy Park this evening.

Multiple units are investigating at East 23rd Street and Carol Avenue. Police have blocked off three houses at the scene.
