Arizona Public Service (APS) says a crew was performing scheduled maintenance when some equipment failed. The failure not only caused the outage, but injured an APS worker. Paramedics took him to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
APS had power restored to Terminal 3 by 11:30 a.m., but both American and Southwest suffered "significant flight impacts." Sky Harbor doesn't expect schedules to get on track until early afternoon. You can check the flight schedule here.
Crews are still working on fully restoring systems in Terminal 4. Sky Harbor expects to have everything back on line by 1:30 p.m. MST.
