YPD arrests 14-year-old student in connection with Cibola threat
Officers say teenager did not intend actual violence
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) says it has arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with a threat made against Cibola High School.
YPD got the report just before 8:30 Tuesday night. Officers say a social media post referred to a possible shooting on the campus, and specifically mentioned the principal.

Officers worked with the Yuma Union High School District (YUHSD) to investigate the threat, and to determine its source and validity.
YPD says it determined a Cibola student did make the threat. However, officers say he did not intend to hurt anyone. They say he merely wanted to get the school to close. Threat charges will be forwarded to the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center.
Classes resumed as usual Wednesday morning.
YPD encourages anyone with more information on this case to call 928-373-4700 or 78-Crime at (928) 782-7463 to remain anonymous.
