A rescue cat saves the day when she protects her new owner from a poisonous snake.
81-year-old Jimmy Nelson’s daughter adopted the cat to keep her father company. She never imagined the frisky feline would save her dad’s life.
Nelson awoke one night to the sound of his new cat playing. It turns out the animal wasn’t having fun, she was fighting.
The next day he discovered a dead copperhead snake under a table. Injuries on the snake indicate the cat killed it.
Copperheads are poisonous. Their venom isn’t strong enough to kill a human being, but it could make someone extremely sick. It’s also known to damage bone and muscle tissue.
Nelson’s daughter is now convinced the cat was sent to her father to protect him.
