Study: Men engage in negative gossip as much as women do

A new study found men engage in negative gossip just as much as women do. The study comes from the University of California Riverside.

Researchers are busting myths about the stereotypes surrounding gender and gossip.

Experts said gossip is simply talking about someone who isn’t present. Gossip can be considered negative, positive, or neutral.

Data shows women gossip more than males, but only when talking about neutral topics. Both genders gossip the same amount when it comes to negative topics.

The study also finds lower class people don’t gossip more than the wealthier.

Everybody talks, regardless of gender.
