Local kids make it to Odyssey of the Mind World Competition
Teams from all three divisions in Yuma qualified for the Odyssey of the Mind world competition will be held in Michigan State University.
Teams from Rolle Elementary School, Ron Watson Middle School, and East Valley Creative have been working since November of last year on their long-term projects.
They will present their project when they arrive at the competition to a panel of judges.
The teams will also compete in Spontaneous Competition where they have to complete a series of tasks on the spot to test their problem-solving skills.
It is the first time Rolle Elementary has made it to the World Competition, though East Valley Creative has qualified several times before.
Several fundraisers will be held throughout the coming weeks before the teams go on their trip on May 21.
They are raising funds to cover travel and lodging expenses.

Ron Watson and East Valley: Lutes Casino Silent Auction, May 8, 4pm.
