Blue Angels ready to take to thrill thousands

The international flying squadron Blue Angels are ready for this year’s 49 th annual air show.

The fun kicks off on Friday evening with a food fest in which the public can meet the pilots in person. On Saturday, gates open at 9 a.m. Flying starts at 11 a.m. with parachute jumping. The Blue Angels take to the sky at 2:30 p.m.

The Blue Angels visit 32 cities worldwide during the year, performing over a hundred times.

The pilots said being part of the team is a dream come true for them. The complete team is 144 members, including crew and pilots.

Blue Angels Captain Eric Doyle said, “They come from all over our country, all over the world, actually. And the come from the fleets. So, we have amazing sailors and marines. The come from the fleet and they all go back to the fleet. So, if you took a cross section of the united states military, they’re here on our team.”
