Yuma thanks local military

It’s Yuma’s way of saying thank you to all the men and women who served our county and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

The city held its sixth annual “Military Appreciation Day” in downtown to honor all veterans and active duty members from all branches of the military. Locals had the chance to personally thank those who served and those who continue serving today.

John Curtis, Executive Director of the Yuma Chamber of Commerce said, “This is one way to say it. With all the exhibits. All the non-profit organizations that support the military. All the military service groups are here making sure that veterans get what they need. And they have access to all the things that they have earned and deserved.”

The event had something for everyone of all ages from exhibits to jump houses and face painting and was free to the public.
