Suspects sought after robbing teens near park

Police are currently seeking two suspects after three teens were robbed near Bucklin Park at the intersection of South 8th Street and Ross Avenue Tuesday evening.

The El Centro Police Department said three teens were confronted by two suspects while walking from Bucklin Park in the area of South 8th Street and Ross Avenue at around 7 p.m. During the incident, a knife was brandished by one of the suspects and the victims were robbed of their belongings, police said. Following the encounter, the suspects fled towards Bucklin Park.

Authorities said one of the suspects was described as a light-skinned Hispanic male juvenile between 16 and 17-years-old, medium build, and was riding a men’s BMX-type bicycle with a black frame.

The second suspect was described as a dark-skinned Hispanic male juvenile between 16 and 17-years-old, thin to medium build, and a light mustache. The second suspect was riding a skateboard with a green decal on the bottom portion of the skateboard.
