Jewelry store robbery suspect arrested

Authorities have arrested the suspect who robbed over $4,000 worth of jewelry from the Zales Jewelry store located at Yuma Palms Shopping Center on December 14.

Yuma police said an investigation revealed that a man with tattoos entered the business and took jewelry at around 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 14. The suspect, who took over $4,000 worth of jewelry, fled the area after pushing an employee. No injuries were reported from the incident.

On Wednesday, authorities tracked down a man that matched the description from the robbery. After being interviewed by detectives, 29-year-old Phillip Martin was taken into custody and booked into the Yuma County Jail for robbery and assault.
