ICSO: Two suspects in custody, victim shot in the head

Two suspects accused of murdering a man in Holtville now behind bars

Deputies from the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office recently found a man who was attacked and suffered head injuries on the 1900 block in Holtville .

Sheriff’s office investigators said they later found the body of another man who was killed by what appears to be a gunshot wound to the head.

Chief Deputy Thomas Garcia said, “Emergency medical was requested and upon arrival, the subject was declared deceased at the scene.”

Hours later, the suspects, 40-year old Adrian Alvardo Lopez, and 36-year old Jessica Michelle Noriega were arrested for the murder.

“They began to do surveillance on these two subjects and initiated a vehicle stop of them in a vehicle. They gathered further evidence at the scene and statements and were able to make an arrest for this incident,” said Garcia.

Both Lopez and Noriega were booked into the Imperial County Jail and are now accused of multiple crimes.

Garica said, “Male subject is being charged with various crimes including murder. 1A7PC. The female I believe is being charged for accessory .”

ICSO added that they still don’t have a motive for the murder but that is something they’re looking into.
