Surehelpline Crisis brings Christmas cheer to convalescent home

The Sure Helpline Crisis brought the Christmas cheer to residents at the Valley Convalescent Center Friday morning.

The yearly tradition for the Sure Helpline Crisis’s senior project ‘Sock Drive’ began as a way to remind the senior community that they’re not neglected.

Jasmine Bueno , the Sure Helpline Crisis Community Outreach coordinator said, “This all started just remembering about our senior community. Because they’re the most forgotten mostly in the holiday season,” said Bueno.

Residents were given gift bags with stuffed animals and socks and treated with Christmas carols.

Bueno added, “When they saw us, they were just laughing at us. They were just like singing along and their face completely just changed. It was happiness in their face.”

Bueno also said that it’s important to let our senior residents in the valley know that they aren’t alone this holiday season.
