Nine Cibola students pass exam for CNA license

Nine Cibola High School students passed the knowledge and skills portions of the Certified Nursing Assistant Exam on Saturday.

“The students will submit their information to the Arizona State Board of Nursing and hold the title of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA),” said Cibola CNA instructor Ezra Mendoza, who is also a Registered Nurse. “This allows them to work in healthcare settings as a Nursing Assistant.”

The exam is the final portion of the Nursing 2 course, which is taught on several Yuma Union High School District campuses as part of the district’s Career & Technical Education program.

Before the CNA exam students were required to pass the CTE program assessment as well as complete 60 hours of a supervised internship at a local care facility.

The following Cibola students passed the CNA exam:

Amanda Argueta Aisha Reyes Alexa Lardin Llamas Taylor Quinn Julie Aguilar Jonathan Lewis Caitlin Sinclair Julian Corona Koury Alberto Murrieta Vasquez

The students will be honored in a nursing program graduation ceremony on Tuesday , December 18, at the YUHSD district office.
