Memorial stone for fallen DPS trooper unveiled at Yuma headquarters
A memorial stone, honoring an Arizona state trooper who was killed in July, was unveiled Wednesday morning at the Department of Public Security headquarters in Yuma.
Edenhofer was killed during a struggle with a man along Interstate 10 near Phoenix on July 25, 2018.
The department said Trooper Tyler Edenhofer was assigned to Quartzsite and was in his last week of field training before he was shot and killed. DPS added that Edenhofer was the fourth trooper from District 4 to lose his life in the line of duty.
The department also tweeted that Edenhofer’s family attended the ceremony.
According to DPS, the Arizona State Troopers Association provided the stone.
