Man convicted of sexually exploiting a minor sentenced to 17 years in prison

The man convicted of sexually exploiting a minor and attempting to molest her was sentenced to 17 years in prison today .
Daniel Rico, 36, was arrested back in June suspected of having sexual contact with a young girl who knew him.
The victim’s mother took the stand to make a statement before the judge sentenced him.
She said the incident has “impacted her in many ways, to this day I still have fear, he’s around me watching me,” she said.
He will have a credit of 174 days served in jail prior to sentencing.
Rico was also ruled to serve a lifetime of probation for attempted molestation of a minor.
Judge Kinsey told Rico that if he was still the judge assigned to his case by the time he was done serving time in jail, Kinsey would not be lenient with Rico if he disobeyed probation.
“I find what you did is reprehensible and inexcusable,” Kinsey said.
Rico will also have to register as a sex offender.
