Storyteller Jere Truer
Jere Truer is a storyteller of multi-cultural fairytales
On Monday, December 10, storyteller Jere Truer will present “Grimm’s Fairytales” at 6:00 p.m. at the Main Library. Listeners of all ages are invited to enjoy two Grimm’s fairytales, “The Raven” and “The Devil’s Sooty Brother.” There is no charge to attend. folk tales from around the world. He is also a musician and poet who incorporates drumming and chant into his stories. The use of chanting and drumming creates a very evocative ambiance which draws in his audiences and holds their attention in such a way that they feel part of the story. His repertoire includes Grimm’s fairytales, fairy and folktales from Sweden, Japan, Eastern Europe, Africa, and indigenous North America.

Living with Snakes
and
You live in the desert. Snakes live in the desert. At some point, you will most likely meet one another. What will you do? On Thursday, December 13, wildlife management scientist Amber Monson will teach you how to prepare for your inevitable snake encounter. All ages are invited to the Wellton Library at 3:30 p.m. to learn how to cohabitate as peacefully as possible with the snakes of the Desert Southwest. There is no charge to attend.

Ugly Sweater Craft Night
Tis the season…for ugly sweaters! On Thursday, December 13, teens are invited to the San Luis Library at 5:00 p.m. for Ugly Christmas Sweater Craft Night. You provide the sweater, we’ll provide the ugly decorating accessories! Ages 13-17 welcome. There is no charge to attend.
