Three day Christmas delivery

The “Three day Christmas delivery” is a service that “Helping Hands of Yuma,” “Crossroads Mission” and the St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church are hosting. The objective? Bring 50 seniors a Christmas meal from December 23rd through December 25th. These are seniors that are home bound and unable to leave their homes for medical reasons. It was a huge success for Thanksgiving and now these organizations are hoping it will do the same this Christmas. We spoke to a volunteer of the church who shares the impact these meals are making.

“I never saw so many smiles from these people that were receiving a meal that they wouldn’t ordinarily get. These people that are home bound sometimes are home bound all by themselves and they don’t have people to talk to and our ‘Knights of Columbus’ took it upon themselves to go in and have a little conversation with them,” said Karen Lynn O’Brian, a volunteer of the service.

If you want to help out with either providing food or delivering the meals to these seniors, you can visit Crossroads Mission and ask for Barbara Rochester. You can contact her at (928) 783-9362 Ext. 501.
