Resources available as Rosa continues
Hurricane Rosa has made its way to Yuma County and residents are advised to prepare for the storm.

The City of Yuma tweeted Monday afternoon stating that the Civic Center is out of sandbags but they still have sand for those who have bags of their own.

The Civic Center now has 3,000 bags available to the public with sand to fill thanks to the Quail Corporation.
Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department said they received 1,000 sandbags and also have sand available. These supplies are first come, first served.
Rural Metro Fire Department is advising the community to stay safe and avoid putting yourself at risk. Avoid flooded zones and if a road is flooded, find another way to get to your destinations. Officials also said to use flashlights instead of candles if the power goes out. If you use a candle, make sure to place it at a safe area so it cannot get knocked over.
Yuma Union High School District has canceled all after-school activities for Monday that includes athletic organizations and club meetings to ensure the safety of the students.
Far West Water and Sewer confirmed water should be running after reports of customers having water issues Monday morning.
Officials said they decreased water pressure around 5 a.m. to make sure Foothills residents had water available. IT specialists were able to have water running by 9 a.m.
Specialists from Phoenix are expected to arrive soon to verify everything is running properly.
The City of Yuma is on standby in case the Yuma Civic Center needs to be opened up as a cooling center, but it is not open for that as of 12 p.m.
Crossroads Mission in Yuma County said their doors are open for anyone who may need shelter.
The Red Cross is monitoring the situation and have volunteers on standby and one team shelter on alert.

The Yuma County Food Bank had to throw out all perishable food items because the building was damaged after yesterday’s storm.

According to the City of Yuma, there are 3,000 sandbags en route to the Civic Center courtesy of Barkley Seed Company. City officials just confirmed that a lot of people are getting sand, so you’ll want to head there soon before they run out.
Rural Metro Fire Station 2, located at 10820 Hensley Blvd., has sandbags available.
For Imperial County , several locations will be providing sandbags aside from the cities’ local fire departments.

Home Depot, located at 320 Wake Avenue, has sandbags and sand available.
Imperial Do It Center , located at 1041 N. Imperial Avenue, has sandbags available.
Lowe’s Home Improvement, located at 2053 N. Imperial Avenue, has sandbags and sand available.
Ryerson Inc., located at 802. E. Main Street, has sandbags and sand available.
