5th annual Origins Art Exhibit: “Art without Borders”
We want to let you know about an art exhibition taking place in San Luis, Arizona that is open to the public and currently looking for local artists to feature.
The San Luis Library is hosting the art exhibition known as “Origins.” It’s in it’s 5th year and it’s in honor of Hispanic heritage month. This years theme is “Art without borders.”
The event is an opportunity for locals of Yuma County to express their artistic talents. The San Luis Library is working with Arizona Western College, Museo Regional de San Luis Rio Colorado and the Mexican Consulate to put this event together.
Last year the exhibition earned a national achievement award for it’s innovative program for county residents.
“There are so few venues for people to show their work so I feel that this brings out awareness that there’s lots of different levels of artists and lots of different kind of art out there that’s being made and happening and gives people a chance to see it,” said Jules Floss, Professor of Fine Arts at AWC San Luis Learning Center.
Everything from paintings to sculptures to photography is welcomed and the list goes on. The art exhibition takes place from September 13th to October 12th and if you are interested in submitting your work the deadline is September 7th.
