A 21-year-old man was arrested by CBP officers after allegedly attempting to smuggle over $345,000 worth in narcotics at the San Luis Port of Entry Tuesday.

Customs and Border Protection officers sent the man to secondary inspection when he attempted to enter the United States in a Mercury SUV. Officers searched the Mercury and found nine pounds of heroin, 65 pounds of methamphetamine, and nearly 70 suspected fentanyl pills hidden in the vehicle’s quarter panels.

The heroin has a street value of nearly $150,000 and the methamphetamine has a value of about $195,000.
