Local ballet dancer receives opportunity of a lifetime

The Joffrey Ballet School in New York City has offered a local dancer an opportunity to join their trainee program in September.

Alia Gizzi is apart of the Artist Reaching To Serve non-profit corporation in Yuma and has inspired the next generation of dancers to follow their dreams.

“I remember being in their place you know watching the older dancers and you know looking up to them and wanting to be just like them when I was older. I didn’t want to disappoint them,” said Gizzi.

Gizzi has been dancing since was 18 months old and aspires to be the best dancer she can be in the future along with making her family proud.

Gizzi’s last performance will be on August 3 at Emerald Springs in Yuma, and she is inviting the community to come out and support.
