SCHC to provide back to school physicals

Sunset Community Health Center will be hosting “Back To School Physicals” every Saturday during the month of July and the first Saturday in August from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children ages three to 17.

This event will encourage children to continue striving for success and helps to create a positive lifestyle.

“Students perform better when they show up for class, feeling good and ready to learn” said Lucy Murrieta, Communality Relations Director at Sunset.

During this routine examination, physicians will record your child’s height and weight, blood pressure and pulse. In addition to these records, the physician will also check the heart, lungs, abdomen, skin, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth and throat of the child to ensure that no abnormalities exist.

According to Mwela Asombang who is a pediatrician at Sunset, by making back to school physicals available on Saturdays, parents do not have to stress about fitting an appointment into the busy work week.

Sports physicals will also be available for students in middle school and high school.

Yuma clinic on 24th street will be the first locations offering physical examines on Saturday July 7, on July 14 Wellton, July 21 North Yuma, July 28 Somerton and lastly August 4, at San Luis clinic.
