Law enforcement discuss gun safety measures

It’s the heated topic that drove students across the country to say, ‘never again.’

But on Friday, the threat came back after high school students in California were faced an alleged 14-year-old school shooter.

The shooting raising concern now more than ever. Some ask: How can students feel safe inside the classroom?

Fire broke out Friday morning near a high school in California. Within seconds, fear settled in for teachers and students.

Although the issue is often the topic of a heated debate, students might hold more power than they think too.

They’re encouraged to always keep an eye out, for any warning signs.

“If you see a change in a friend,” Sgt. Lori Franklin with the Yuma Police Department said. “Who’s normally really happy all of a sudden they’re secluded talk to the friend go to their parent that’s just showing concern obviously something is wrong and bothering them.”
