Pedestrian killed while crossing street in Winterhaven

Pedestrian Ivan Valisto was struck and killed while trying to cross the street on Sunday in Winterhaven, California at approximately 8:45 a.m.

California Highway Patrol said it happened when Eddie Duenas and his wife Jennifer Duenas were traveling westbound on Interstate 8 in a 2017 Harley Davidson.

At this time Valisto was crossing the westbound portion of Interstate 8 in a southerly direction and walked directly into the path of the motorcycle and collided.

All parties were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center and treated for their injuries.

Ivan Valisto was pronounced dead.

This accident is under investigation.
