Fire in El Centro leaves ten people homeless

Ten people were displaced after a fire broke out in El Centro. Just north of Sixth St. two structures went up in flames.

Over thirty five fire fighters were needed to battle the fire but was eventually contained in just over half an hour. We spoke with the El Centro Fire Battalion Chief Cedric Cesena, who said nothing was able to be salvaged. “We’re able to maintain the fire to the structure orgin as well as the second exposure that caught on fire. Thanks to the help of the surrounding communities that came out to assist us. So damage to these two structures, they’re complete losses at this point.”

The fire battalion chief also say that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
