Structure fire reported at 6th Street leaves 10 people displaced

A third alarm structure fire was reported at North 6th Street and Pico Avenue in El Centro at around 1:30 p.m. Friday.

According to El Centro Fire Department, two structures have been severely damaged.

10 people that include seven adults and three underage children have been displaced due to the fire.

Around 40 firefighters from multiple agencies are currently battling the fire.

Authorities said it is expected that firefighters will remain at the scene for at least two more hours to contain the fire.
