San Luis Police Department’s first K-9 retires

SAN LUIS, Az- One of the first K-9s to start with the San Luis Police Department is retiring. During this week’s city council meeting, Mayor Gerardo Sanchez presented a plaque to SLPD.

K-9 Zaza began with SLPD in 2010 with Cpl. Miller, when the program was established. K-9 Zaza was most recently handled and working with Officer Galvan. At the end of the ceremony, K-9 Zaza received a big bone. Mayor Sanchez stated, ” On behalf of the City of San Luis, we are grateful for your services and time dedicated in protecting our residents.”

A new K-9 was recently purchased to take K-9 Zaza’s place.
