ECPD places in K-9 Trials

El Centro Police Officer Thompson and K-9 Max as well as Officer Magana and K-9 Bico attended the K-9 Trials over the weekend in Murrieta. They competed against 42 K-9 teams that included military working dogs from all over the area. In the building search category, Officer Thompson and K-9 Max won 2nd place.

The event was put on by the Murrieta Police Department along with Paws 4 Law Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises awareness and support for K-9 units in the area. Funds go towards K-9 police training equipment, safety gear, and funeral and burial costs for active or retired law enforcement canines. The trial is open to military and law enforcement handlers that are full-time. The canines perform on obstacle courses.
