YRMC honors organ donations

April is ‘National Donate Life Month’ and the Yuma Regional Medical Center is raising the ‘Donate Life’ flag to celebrate the miracle of organ, eye and tissue donation on Wednesday, April 4, at 9 a.m.

In Arizona last year, 267 organ donors saved 701 lives. Still, more than 2.200 Arizonans are waiting to receive a life-saving organ transplant.

Nationally, more than 115,000 people await the gift of life. These numbers grow daily and nearly 3.2 million Arizonans have said “yes” to one day donating their organs.

Representatives from YRMC ‘s Spiritual Care department will be present as well as a spokesperson with Donor Network of Arizona.

The event will take place at the YRMC flag pole, located on the west side of the hospital, just down from the Main Entrance. Guests are advised to use the Visitor Parking Garage off 24th street.
