Taking care of business

The Imperial Valley College, has launched a new partnership with Columbia College where full time students who’s completed their requirements can finish their business degree in just fifteen months.

Guillermo Salgado, a professor of business for Columbia College says, “IVC came to an agreement with Columbia to fill this demand that the local community has. In terms of getting your degree in a classroom setting in the school of business. “

Prior to the new partnership, students who wanted to pursue a business degree at IVC had to transfer out to other colleges. But the Columbia College business program gives them the option to stay in the valley.
“They don’t have to look elsewhere in order to continue their pursuit of their bachelors degree.”

Kristen Gomez, the transfer center coordinator at IVC says if this proves successful, other bachelor degrees could be offered. “Columbia college offer many more bachelors degrees. So our hope is that if we have more demand, we can continue to grow this program into other majors that our valley has the need for.

Those interested in the Columbia College business program can go to the Columbia College website or find the program coordinator, Andres Ruiz at the IVC campus or website.
