Authorities identify suspect involved in armed robbery

(UPDATE 12:16 P.M.)

The suspect involved in the armed robbery that happened at Wal-Mart located 2501 S. Ave B on Wednesday has been identified.

The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Abraham Castillo.

Thursday morning at approximately 4:24 a.m. Abraham Castillo was located in the 2300 Block of 8 th Avenue and was arrested in reference to this case.

Castillo was later booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Facility for armed robbery.

The Yuma Police Department responded to a report of threats with a weapon at the Wal-Mart located at 2501 S. Ave B, on Wednesday, March 28.

The investigation revealed a male subject entered the business and approached an associate at the money center desk, indicated he had a weapon and demanded money from the associate.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic Male with a light complexion, wearing a dark colored short sleeve shirt with a red long sleeve shirt underneath and blue jeans.

The suspect was last seen wearing a straw hat and white bandana and fled the store and the area in an unknown vehicle.

There were no reported injuries reference to this case.
