Special tournament raises $46K for pediatric cancer support
Fundraiser held at Yuma Golf and Country Club
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - After holding the #bhuntstrong Golf Tournament on April 23, the Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) announced Friday, that together, over 120 golf sponsors and volunteers were able to raise $46,845.76, benefitting YRMC's established Pediatric Oncology Support Fund. This endowment offers parents much-needed financial support.
Tournament organizer Kristi Hughes planned the event in support of Braden Hunt, a Yuma teen who was diagnosed in 2020 with a form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and families throughout Yuma County who are battling childhood cancer.
"The tournament is a testament to the people of Yuma County’s philosophy of people helping people," shares Foundation of YRMC Executive Director Jackie Woodwell. "The collaboration within our community is what made this event so special, and reflects how passionate our community is in support of helping kids and families."
The Foundation of YRMC extends sincere gratitude to the many sponsors and supporters.
