San Luis Mayor Gerardo Sanchez wants residents to get out and be healthy

The City of San Luis has approved funding for the purchase of new exercise equipment

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - City of San Luis Mayor Gerardo Sanchez is a medical professional by trade. So, getting people to take a vested interest in their health is at the top of his list.

On May 12, 2021, the San Luis city council voted to approve the purchase of exercise equipment that will be placed throughout the municipalities' parks and walkways.

Funds for the project have been deverted from an existing project that has been placed on hold.

The city has partnered with Dave Bang Associates a major retailer of outdoor exercise equipment and set aside $15, 666,68 to purchase the equipment. The city plans on installing stationary bikes, rowing machines, leg press, and sit-up stations among other equipment.

According to Mayor Sanchez the equipment should be put in place in the coming weeks.
