Free oil changes for military personnel

A local dealership is showing their gratitude towards active military personnel and veterans one oil change at a time.

In 2015 Hyundai of Yuma made it a priority to provide service to those who have fought for our country, they even designed a program just to honor those who have served.

“We want to give back to our military men and women and it is just a small token of our appreciation for everything they do for our country,” said John Baladi, Director of Operations at Hyundai of Yuma.

Principal dealer, Abe Razick when we took over the store back in March of 2015 he made it a point to offer free oil changes to all military families.

The practice is well known at the local military base, initiating a relationship between the customers and the store with one purpose in mind.

“To make it to where all military people can feel and have a second home away from home, and starting with the oil changes having somewhere where you can buy a car and not go through the price haggle,” shares Baladi.

Automotive news featured the company in an article last month stating Hyundai’s free oil change program is important in attracting and keeping those customers.

“We’re just happy to have our name Hyundai of Yuma out there when we came in 2015 our goal was to make an impression,” said Baladi.

And they did. According to Hyundai most of their customers are from the marine base, but many veterans are also taking advantage of the program resulting in at least one hundred free oil changes a month for military personnel and veterans

“When they come in they show their ID and really that’s it, they make the process that easy,” shares Baladi.

The company believes this makes it easier for customers who are new to the area to find a place they can trust.

“I come from a military family myself so it feels good to give back to the community” shares Chris Phillips, Express service advisor.

Kia of Yuma and Escondido Hyundai also offer similar services for military personnel, but Hyundai of Yuma’s program has been around the longest.
